Rosarito Hotels As we stay in hotels in Rosarito we will write our opinion on them, as well as publish some pictures so that you can see what we saw (as opposed to a flashy brochure). Newport Beach HotelGranted, this hotel is in Puerto Nuevo, which is a small town south of Rosarito and north of Ensenada that has gained fame for Lobsters (langosto). The lobsters are delicious, but they are not nearly as inexpensive as they used to be. You will pay between $6-10 for lobster. The Newport Beach Hotel has two great hosts in Michael and Debra Wilson, two expatriots who now reside in Baja California. The hotel has a rustic feel to it, and is colorful. On a Friday night when we arrived it was loud with a concert--a not-so-talented singer belting spanish songs to the mostly young American and Mexican crowd in the upstairs lounge. My two favorite parts to this hotel are the rooms, and the pool and breakfast. Here is the view from my room, which at peak season cost way too much ($225) but in the off-season and non-holiday can cost more reasonable $80. (view from room) (pool, green-bottom jacuzzi, and pool-side bar to the left.)
This is a look at some of the most delicious mexican breakfast you can have. Even if I stay at a different hotel, until I find something better this is where I come for breakfast. Look at some of these buffet items: (fresh churros anyone?) Look at all the jello and light desserts. Some pictures of the room:
